Lily Purse Pattern [FREE]

This is a stitch pattern that I love sooooo much! The Lily top is one of my best selling patterns to date, and I think it’s because of how retro the stitch pattern looks. The buds stitch looks so classic but is reimagined to fit the style of today. Since everyone loves it so much, I decided to start a collection of patterns using the bud stitch. First on the list, the Lily Purse!

A few notes before we get into the pattern:

  • The PDF is available ad-free on my website here.

  • Use the hashtag #LilyPurse to show off your makes on instagram!

  • I used 2 skeins of K+C Raffia Yarn from Joanns. You could also get raffia from Wool and the Gang.

    • You’ll need about 120-150 yards, depending on how long you make your strap.

Materials

  • Weight 4 Raffia yarn

    • 120 yards

  • 7mm crochet hook

  • Tapestry needle

Gauge

  • Bottom circle after row 8 = 5.25 inches/ 13.3 cm

  • Rows 9-15 = 6.5 inches/ 16.5 cm

While gauge is not super important here as this is an accessory, these are good checks for yourself.

Measurements

The finished purse should measure 5.25 inches in width and 8 inches in height.

The strap measures about 30 inches, but you can make it as long or as short as you’d like!

Pattern Notes

  • CH 3 at beginning of row counts as double crochet

  • This pattern is worked in the round

  • Repeat between * when noted
